There’s an Xbox controller for almost every taste, and this week, Microsoft is adding a new variant to its Vapor line. The Nocturnal Vapor Xbox wireless controller has been unveiled, and like the other models in this series, this one features eye-catching swirls and subtle colors. The Nocturnal Vapor has a light and dark green color swirl that’s unique to every controller, as well as rubberized green diamond-pattern grips on the back case.
It’ll be released on April 9 and is priced at $70 at Amazon and the Microsoft Store. Beyond the fancy colors and swirling designs, this controller has the same hardware inside of it as all of the other Xbox controllers currently available to purchase.
Ergonomically, it fits very well in the hand and is quite comfortable to hold for marathon gaming sessions. All the inputs you’d need, from face buttons to shoulder-triggers, are included, and this standard design also incorporates a share button for quick snapshots and capturing gameplay videos.
The other benefit of an Xbox controller is its flexibility when it comes to compatibility and power options. These work wirelessly or via a USB-C connection on Xbox consoles and PCs, and if you’re into cloud gaming, you can also make use of it on compatible mobile devices via a Bluetooth connection. These controllers typically ship with two AA batteries, but you can replace them with an optional rechargeable battery pack. Microsoft sells its own battery pack, but there are several affordable third-party options available as well.
If you’d prefer one of the other limited-edition Xbox controllers, you can get a pretty good deal on them right now at Amazon. They’re on sale now, and you can add models like the Dream Vapor, Velocity Green, or Gold Shadow to your collection.
