New Switch Bundle Apparently Leaks, And It May Include A Free Mario Game

[UPDATE] Nintendo has now confirmed the new Switch bundle. It’s called the Choose One bundle, and it comes with a Switch system, red Joy-Cons, and your choice of a free Mario game download. The options include, as rumored, Super Mario Odyssey, Mario Kart 8 Deluxe, or New Super Mario Bros. U Deluxe. It also includes a sticker pack themed around The Super Mario Bros. Movie.

The Choose One bundle launches March 10, priced at $300.

The original story is below.

It looks like Nintendo may release a new Switch bundle soon to coincide with the debut of The Super Mario Bros. Movie in April. Images posted on Reddit show the box for this unannounced bundle, with one of the perks being a choice of one of three games to download at no extra cost.

The options include some excellent titles, including Super Mario Odyssey, New Super Mario Bros. U Deluxe, or Mario Kart 8 Deluxe. The bundle also seemingly comes with sticker sheets for the The Super Mario Bros. Movie and a Switch console sporting red Joy-Cons. One side of the box features Mario’s face and his cold, glaring eyes staring back at you. It’s a little unnerving, actually. Pricing was not mentioned.

This bundle isn’t a total surprise, though, as it’s been making the rounds of the rumor mill for weeks. These images, however, are the most authentic-looking that we’ve seen so far. The packaging seen in the leak includes ESRB imagery, which suggests this bundle might be released in America, as opposed to being a region-specific product.

It’s rumored the bundle will be announced, or potentially released, on March 10 to celebrate Mario Day. As for when Nintendo might announce this, if it is indeed real, one potential place is the March 9 Nintendo Direct that will contain the final trailer for The Super Mario Bros. Movie.

The Super Mario Bros. Movie releases on April 5, and it’s expected to do big business at the box office and potentially become one of the highest-grossing video game movies ever.
