Xbox insiders can now stream games to their Discord friends directly from the console. The feature is rolling to the Alpha Skip-Ahead and Alpha rings of Xbox insiders. It will soon release for everyone.
To get started, you’ll first have to link your Discord account to your Xbox (and be an Xbox Insider for now). Then you’ll hit the Xbox button on your controller, scroll to Parties & chats, and select Discord. From there, you can look through your servers and select a specific voice channel. In the options menu for that channel, you’ll find a button to stream your game.
In other Discord news, the social media app changed its username policy earlier this year, forcing users to create a unique username. Last year, Discord added voice chat functionality to Xbox. PlayStation integration followed early this year.
As for other Xbox news, Microsoft plans to have a large presence at Gamescom this year. It will be bringing playable demos of Armored Core VI, Cyberpunk 2077: Phantom Liberty, and Stalker 2. The Xbox Game Pass titles for this month were also announced and include A Short Hike, Broforce Forever, Celeste, and Everspace 2. The service also lost some titles this month, including Death Stranding (on PC) and Total War: Warhammer III.
