Hot off the heels of Barbie, actor Ryan Gosling will next be seen on the silver screen in The Fall Guy. The action flick will see him portraying a stuntman named Colt Seavers, who must not only perform daring performances for a movie but also track down a missing film star.
That means Gosling’s character gets flung from controlled danger to outright danger in his search, as seen in the official trailer for The Fall Guy seen below. Oh, and on top of this, Colt is trying to reignite his romance with director Jody Moreno, portrayed by The Quiet Place’s Emily Blunt. So the stuntman has a lot on his plate–including a dog as a companion near the end of the teaser.
The Fall Guy is directed by David Leitch, who previously helmed Bullet Train and Deadpool 2. The movie reteams Leitch with one of his Bullet Train stars in Aaron Taylor-Johnson. In The Fall Guy, he plays the missing movie star Tom Ryder that Gosling’s character is searching out.
Stephanie Hsu (Everything, Everywhere, All At Once), Winston Duke (Black Panther), and Hannah Waddingham (Ted Lasso) help round out the talented cast for The Fall Guy. The trailer showcases Waddingham’s character overseeing Colt’s search for the missing Ryder. Meanwhile, Duke comes across as a buddy for Colt.
Earlier this year, Universal unveiled the first footage for The Fall Guy at CinemaCon 2023. The movie has been in development since at least 2010 and is based on the 1980s TV show.
The Fall Guy–not to be confused with Gosling’s The Nice Guys–is set to premiere in theaters on March 1.
