Every Game Getting Nintendo Switch 2 Enhanced Versions
As Nintendo promised back in January, the Switch 2 direct had a lot of major announcements about the company’s next console. In addition to the new games and features, a handful of titles that will be receiving Switch 2 enhanced versions, officially dubbed as a “Switch 2 Edition.”
Two titles that haven’t been released yet, Metroid Prime 4: Beyond and Pokemon Legends Z-A, will be among the first games to get Switch 2 enhanced versions. Older games such as Super Mario Party Jamboree are among the titles getting the upgrade. Fans who already own those games for the original Switch will be able to purchase an upgrade to the Switch 2 Editions. But Nintendo has yet to disclose pricing details for that.
The good news for The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild and The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom owners is that the Switch 2 edition upgrades will be free to Nintendo Switch Online + Expansion Pack members. However, you will need to own those games in order to play their Switch 2 Edition counterparts.
Additionally, some Nintendo Switch games will get free updates for Switch 2. They may improve performance or add support for features like GameShare, but it will vary game by game.
