Don’t Sell Your Unused Diablo 4 Uber Uniques, Blizzard Promises They’ll Be Useful Soon

Having a stash full of duplicate Uber Uniques in Diablo 4 might actually be useful soon, as developer Blizzard is advising players to hold onto the unwanted items, citing “upcoming plans” that will be shared in the near future.

Uber Uniques are Diablo 4’s rarest and most powerful items, but obtaining two of the same one, or one that isn’t useful for your desired build, can feel a bit like winning the lottery, only to accidentally throw your winning ticket down the drain. Uber Uniques used to be extremely rare, but have become a bit more obtainable nowadays thanks to Blizzard introducing farmable bosses, like Duriel, that have a small chance to drop specific Uber Uniques.

It’s now much more common for players to have duplicate Uber Uniques simply collecting dust in their stash as a result, with no real use for them other than potentially selling them for a decent chunk of gold. That, however, sounds like it will be changing soon.

In a post on the game’s official forums, Diablo community development director Adam Fletcher stated the Diablo 4 design team has “upcoming plans for players who may have numerous Uber Uniques that they may not use.”

“The team wanted to get a PSA out to users to hang onto these for now,” Fletcher writes. “We will have more information to share soon regarding this but felt it was important to give an early heads up to players.”

There’s no additional information to go off of for now, but players in Fletcher’s replies on X (formerly Twitter) are hoping for a way to fine-tune Uber Unique stats, craft new Uber Uniques, or possibly trade-in unwanted ones for a different Uber Unique altogether.

Diablo 4’s third season, Season of the Construct, is currently in full swing, with the game’s latest update bringing some serious buffs to its previously underwhelming Seneschal Construct companion. The game’s first expansion, Vessel of Hatred, is slated for a late 2024 release.
