Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 launches on November 10, and Activision has released a brief video to discuss a new weapon customization option for the game’s Gunsmith feature. Here is everything revealed about Modern Warfare 3’s new aftermarket parts.
In the video seen below, developers discuss aftermarket parts coming to Modern Warfare 3’s Gunsmith. These unique parts are separate from the normal attachments found in Call of Duty’s weapon customization, but these additional aftermarket parts will give you new ways to use your guns.
One example given is that Modern Warfare 3’s heaviest light machine gun has a bullpup conversion kit, which allows the beefy light machine gun to be lightened and better used for a run-and-gun playstyle.
“They’re nearly a new gun,” one developer says when explaining use of the new parts. “They are powerful, meaningful changes to these weapons.” The developer says the parts change the way the weapons fire, the rate of fire, as well as potentially the fire type.
While Activision’s video didn’t confirm if in-depth weapon customization will be available during the upcoming beta, you can get hands-on with Modern Warfare 3 as early as October 6.
More information will be revealed for Modern Warfare 3 during the Call of Duty Next event on October 5, and you get a first look at the new Warzone map here.
