Call Of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 Doesn’t Have A Platinum Trophy On PS5

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 officially launches on November 10, with early access to the campaign available today for those with digital preorders, and preloading has revealed the game doesn’t include a Platinum trophy for PlayStation 5.

As spotted by PowerPyx, Modern Warfare 3’s trophy list doesn’t have its own listing on a player’s PlayStation 5 profile. The game is categorized under DLC for Modern Warfare 2, giving players a total of 39 trophies to earn for Modern Warfare 3 but with no option for a Platinum trophy.

However, PowerPyx claims the PlayStation 4 version of Modern Warfare 3 does have its own game listing and a Platinum trophy to earn. Players on PlayStation 5 with the cross-gen bundle can still choose to download the PS4 version of the game to earn a Platinum for Modern Warfare 3.

The lack of a Platinum trophy may be tied to the way Call of Duty games are now accessed through the Call of Duty HQ app. Recent Call of Duty games such as Modern Warfare 2, Warzone, and Vanguard have all been linked to the same launcher, meaning you can switch between all of them from a single menu. Additionally, Activision announced back in August that Call of Duty would have one access point for Modern Warfare 2 and all future games moving forward. This new unified hub for Call of Duty means there’s a chance next year’s game will be categorized as DLC for Modern Warfare 2 and also be missing a Platinum trophy.

The 39 trophies available for Modern Warfare 3 on PlayStation 5 include a mix of trophies for campaign, multiplayer, and the new co-op Zombies extraction mode.
